The new movie “Invictus” is about the collaboration between government and sport. Through South Africa’s rugby team, Nelson Mandela tries to unite the divided country. Nelson Mandela started off as a prisoner who was released and went on to become the President of South Africa. The country was segregated not just racially, but economically as well. President Mandela decides to team up with rugby Captain Francois Pienaar to help them to the 1995 World Cup Championship match where Mandela hopes to bring his people back together again. Mandela believes that if South Africa can make it to the World cup, then the people will unite in support of their country. He believes that if there is a common enemy (such as the team they will compete against at the World Cup) then his people will naturally come together and be one country. Invictus is an inspirational film actually based on a true story, much like the movie “Miracle” which makes it that much more appealing to the audience and much more real. The movie is directed by Clint Eastwood who has been known to put out some great films such as “Million Dollar Baby” and critics do not expect anything less from him. Morgan Freeman plays the role of Nelson Mandela and is perfect for the part, while Matt Damon stars as Captain Francois Pienaar to complete a dynamic duo that really gives this movie an interesting vibe of leadership and passion.

Even if it maybe seem a little “cliché” there is nothing wrong with a good inspirational story line, especially if it is based on a true story.
